Why I LOVE LuLaRoe!

Reason Lula - MFB

12360263_2884488958253_2229855784896941580_nS&I - MFB1) Their clothes are the most comfortable clothes I have ever put on my body and worn out in public confidently. The number one comment I hear out of new customers mouths is “you weren’t kidding, this is the most comfortable piece of clothing!” I have even gotten, “This is so comfortable… is it okay to wear it out in public?”

2) The clothes are affordable! $50 for a dress is very reasonable in my books. I would spend every bit of that and more at Gap, Anthro, ModCloth… etc.

12347684_2885028371738_8076194405097943874_nI &L -MFB3) It literally fits everyone. The only time I have ever ran into a fit problem is when a size sold out at that particular party.

4) Not only do you support small businesses when you buy a new outfit, but you are also benefiting our country! Everything except for the leggings are made in the USA!

12471676_948468178522045_958406251081940949_oA - MFB5) There are sooooooo many cute prints! Before I got into LuLa I could have been quoted multiple times say “My wardrobe is so boring!” That could not be farther from the truth now that LuLaRoe has taken over my closet.

6) LuLa clothing is modest! I love that I don’t have to worry about showing anything that shouldn’t be showing.

12274507_2875921384069_7437748068452915669_nJ- MFB7) This clothing line is pregnant women friendly. No, I’m not pregnant, but I remember trying to shop when I was pregnant and it was no bueno. Everything seemed to be super boring and very 2005 or crazy expensive. LuLa fabrics are soft and stretchy, looking adorable on baby bumps! I will never make the mistake of shopping maternity again. Bonus… if you buy LuLa clothing when pregnant, you can wear it again after birth.

8) Lastly, I love how LuLaRoe started. Long story short LuLaRoe basically started when DeAnne (the owner of the company) made a skirt for her daughter. When all of her daughter’s friends saw it, they wanted one too, thus LuLaRoe was born. LuLaRoe was named after DeAnne’s first 3 grandchildren, Lola, Lucy, and Monroe. It is a very family centered company – I love that!

Pregnancy Post: Oh yeah, did I mention I’m pregnant?

As of Sunday I will be 23 weeks pregnant and am very happy to have survived these past months.

First trimester was very hard. Between morning sickness, horrible nausea and the worst food aversions, I wasn’t sure I would ever feel back to my normal self. Also, my husband and I both started to feel financial pressures and that aching stress of “will we be ready for this baby by May?”.

Going into second trimester I felt very uplifted knowing that I had conquered a third of the pregnancy. I started to feel much more energized and my symptoms of first trimester eased.

My bump started to show around 18 weeks (even though I felt like I was showing much earlier). While it was exciting, I was starting to feel uncomfortable. That feeling was quickly calmed after I felt the first kicks at 19.5 weeks.

Being 4 weeks out from third trimester I am feeling excited and am looking forward to this next stage of pregnancy. Even though I still don’t feel quite myself and I’m having to take nausea medicine I am getting excited again for the end result – a baby!

5 Best Hair Product for Dry Hair

Well, it’s that time of year again! Soon the leaves will start to change colors and one of the most challenging decisions to be made will be which pumpkin to pick and what fall scented candle to light. I love this time of year!

However this change in climate always seems to do a 180º on my hair. In the summer I have really healthy hair, but when the seasons change, my hair dries out and becomes more coarse and brittle.

In efforts to avoid these symptoms I have tried numerous amounts of leave in conditioners. Here is a list of some of my favorite ones on the market today.

Cooking Vegan: Autumn Butternut Squash Soup

Looking for the perfect recipe to get you pumped for fall? Well you just found it!

This easy to make soup has a creamy, sweet, and savory blend that will have you going back for seconds.

photo 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 large carrots, finely chopped
  • 8 cups chopped butternut squash(peeled, seeded and chopped into 1″ cubes)
  • 4 cups vegetable stock
  • 1 cup plain unsweetened soy milk, plus more if desired
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, heat the olive oil and saute the garlic, onions and celery, carrots, stirring often, until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add butternut squash and vegetable stock. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer until all of the vegetables are tender, about 30-40 minutes.
  3. Transfer the soup to a blender and process until smooth. (You will probably have to do this in batches) Return the soup to the pot. Stir in the soy milk, salt and pepper, and cook until desired temperature and consistency. Serve immediately and enjoy!

NOTE: It is easier to cube the butternut squash if you slice it in half and bake it for about an hour at 350 degrees. If you do this, you will have to adjust your simmer time on step 2 because your veggies will cook faster.

Untitled-1

The time has finally come! Time to pack away my swimsuits and flip-flops and pull out my big cozy sweaters. September is here, and with that comes cooler temperatures, shorter daylight and colorful leaves.

Although the hassle of dressing in warm layers every time I step out the house may be the harsh reality of the cold weather setting in, I can’t deny my excitement I have for this season and my favorite fall traditions.

18 Things Every 18 Year Old Girl Should Know Before Attending College

Dear 18 year old me,

You are about to enter the intimidating world of dating, college classes, parties and all sorts of other experience that come with being a young adult. While it will be some of the most exciting times of your life, it also can be overwhelming and heartbreaking. Here are some things you should know.

  1. You don’t have to know exactly what you want to do and how you want to get there. Embrace change and your life will be better.
  2. Keep track of your goals and work towards making them happen every day.
  3. Don’t look like a slob everyday in class. Your professors will be your references someday and you want to make a good impression on them.
  4. Never apologize for who you are. It is okay to be different. College is all about finding out who you really are and what you want to become.
  5. Don’t overwhelm yourself. It is good to stay busy, but keep some free time open for spontaneous outings or random hangouts with friends. These times will make for some of your best memories.
  6. 315518_2048784106088_4414672_nDon’t pull all-nighters; they are not worth it. You will feel miserable in the morning and regret it for most of the week until you are caught up on sleep.
  7. Be involved in school activities and organizations! It will not only make this large university seem small, but will provide you with good friends and mentors. You will also learn how to work well with others and be better prepared for life in the real world.
  8. Find time to hang out with all types of people. It is easy to do and it will make you learn to appreciate people who differ from you.
  9. Don’t drive home every weekend to see your boyfriend or family. Missing them is tough, but you will miss out on fun weekend activities that will create stronger bonds between you and your new college friends.
  10. Do make an occasional visit to the over-crowded library for studying during finals week. Not a whole lot will get done, but you will have the best memories.
  11. 380084_10150516581120407_110972943_nYou do not have to drink in order to have fun.
  12. You will get a lot further by collaborating with people rather than competing against them.
  13. Eat healthy and don’t drink too much. It is not worth working off the “Freshman 15.”
  14. Just because you are in a relationship, does not mean you have to have sex. There are lots of ways to show your guy you care that do not have as many possible negative consequences. It is good to know where your boundaries are and stick to them. Don’t ever let a guy pressure you into doing something you are not comfortable doing. If they are pressuring you, they are probably not right for you.
  15. Go on dates… learn what you like… and create a “man wish list.” (Make a list of non-negotiable traits you want in your future husband.)
  16. DSC02798Work hard in your classes and make them priority. You went to college for school, not for the social scene.
  17. Your parents don’t know everything about the world like you thought… but they do know more than you, so listen to them when they give advise. Just because you are an adult does not mean there job as parents is done.
  18. Don’t let people fool you; college life is much easier than the real world so cherish every moment.
